AR Minimum Licensing Requirements

Attached, you will find the minimum licensing manual all child care facilities are required to follow. Both WILD and WILD-West are quality rated programs that go above and beyond the minimum licensing requirements to provide a safe and nurturing environment for it's students.

Better Beginnings' goal is to make sure all children in Arkansas have access to quality child care. Better Beginnings early childhood educators prepare children for kindergarten with positive experiences, research-based curriculum, and learning through play. Classroom Schedules
Each classroom across our campuses have varying schedules to include curriculum, learning, and play. Students are allotted time in the mornings and afternoons for outdoor gross motor play. Drop-off is from 7AM-9AM. However, breakfast is served at 8AM and students must be present no later than 8:05AM to receive breakfast. Lunch is served at 11AM, with nap to follow from 12PM-2PM. Snack is served at 2:30PM and again at 4:30PM.

Developmental Screenings
Developmental Screenings are a formal way of looking at how a child is developing. WILD uses the Ages and Stages program. This looks like a questionnaire or checklist that a teacher completes as well as a parent/guardian. It helps professionals consider what a child can do compared to other children the same age. A developmental screening can identify whether further evaluation is needed. All children, birth to 5 years old, are required to participate in our developmental screenings. These are completed twice a year (spring/fall), with parent-teacher conferences to follow.
